"Visually, this looks like Burgundy, a beautiful ruby hue. The forward fruit is a melange of blackberry and cherry with hints of clove and cinnamon. This wine is in a very good place right now with acids and tannins completely in harmony. This tastes so good that it makes no sense. After all, there isn’t any exciting domestic Pinot Noir under $20, right?"

2006 Flechas de los Andes Gran Corte Mendoza

2006 Flechas de los Andes Gran Corte Mendoza

We’re excited to offer you what might be the best pricing in the country on 2006 Gran Corte, a joint venture in Mendoza, Argentina between Pauillac’s Benjamin de Rothschild and Laurent Dassault of St-Emilion’s Chateau Dassault.  We’d love you to try this remarkable value that has just earned 94 points in Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate.

    Tasting Notes:

“Is this Argentine beef in a bottle? Even after 24 hours open, this continues to unfold and impress. Aromatically, I’m getting resinous black fruit, molten licorice and aged balsamic. This blend is big-but-pure, meaning that I feel it’s driven less by oak and jammy ripeness, and more by its own complexity and its sweet chunky tannins. Flavors of black raspberry and beef blood carry nicely through the lengthy finish, and it’s making me hungry. I think I’ll throw a steak on the grill.”  -Michael Koehler, Suburban’s Argentine Wine Specialist

Reg. $29.99 On Sale for $23.99
