Winemaker Andy Gamache takes the best parcels at Hyatt Vineyards in crafting the Roza Ridge line. The fruit profile is a nicely structured blast of black cherry with a seam of blueberry and the oak quotient and tannins are perfectly integrated. This is yet another example of the quality and value emanating from the great state of Washington.

Wine Enthusiast

This is a sophisticated Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated, Bordeaux-style blend, with 9% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec. It carries a note of leather and drying tannins, suggesting that you should drink it fairly soon. It should be delicious with a grilled steak.

Score: 87. —Paul Gregutt, November 01, 2012.
