La Vieille ferme produces distinctive wines at very attractive prices. By purchasing grapes and carefully selecting southern Rhône Valley wines, the clear objective of La Vieille Ferme is to obtain cuvées which are consistently concentrated and elegant, offering wines with great style. Our goal is to offer the very best price-quality ratio. Vieille ferme wines originate from mountain vineyards. The whites come from Côtes du Luberon, the rocky chain to the east of Aix-en-Provence ; the reds and rosés from Mont Ventoux, the moutain with chalky soils, wich towers over Vaucluse. This mid-mountain area (300m above sea level) has a cool micro-climate, an important factor in preserving good acidity which in turn promotes balanced, fresh and fruity wines. Strict controls over yields and a classic vinification adapted to each variety (light crush - no destemming - long fermentation in vats) ensure a ripe assertive wine with lots of chatacter. La Vieille Ferme white is sourced just to the south in the hilly Côtes du Luberon. The Perrin's choice of region was confirmed several years ago when the Côtes du Luberon was granted full Appellation Controlée status. Viticulture and vinification controls are equally rigorous.
