The Dudognon family has produced cognac in the small town of Lignieres Sonneville since 1776. The Dudognon's are staunch traditionalists who distill only the Ugni Blanc grown on their properties. The family frequently sells their young spirits to Delamain, Hine and Remy Martin. While many cognacs are laden with permitted additives (sugar, boisé, caramel), the only additive used in Dudognon Cognacs is water: because of this, their color is fairly light, their sweetness comes from only naturally concentrated fruit, while their length, like the finest spirits from the Grand Champagne, is counted in minutes. Exclusively from Ugni Blanc grapes grown in Grande Champagne, which are known for their great length ? the Dudognon Vieille Reserve is aged for 25 years in cask. Impressive, incredibly smooth and sweet flavors of honey, coffee, spice with a nutty, sherry-like aroma. This is truly a very special tasting experience, perfect to enjoy during the holidays! Tasting Note: Fine rancio note on the nose, along with hints of honey, coffee, and spice. Soft, silky smooth and sweet in the mouth, with excellent length. A real treat.
