Wrestle With This Bad-Ass Tequila Inspired by the famed masked wrestlers of Mexico, tequilero David Ravandi created El Luchador (which means?the wrestler?) and is made from organic blue agave, all single estate grown. Grown at 4,200 feet, the agave hails from the upper reaches of what is considered a Lowlands spirit. Individually numbered and bottled in antique-looking recycled glass bottles, the masked Mexican wrestler on the label makes quite an impression before you ever crack into it. This deep, velvety 110-proof spirit is favored by mixologists as a foundation for building authentic, classic cocktails and for enjoying as an agave digestif. As this is heavily overproof tequila, it is very racy on the nose, stuffed with agave, lemon pepper, sea salt and citrus, the latter a hallmark of Lowlands tequilas. El Luchador offers a lovely, creamy complexion with a nice balance of the sweet and savory, making it both exciting and quite complicated for a blanco. A must have for any serious mixer! Tasting Note: Heady nose of agave, lemon pepper and lots of citrus. Rich and powerful in the mouth with silky-sweet with notes of nougat and coconut. Gorgeous cinnamon, rising agave white pepper, lemongrass, and soothing touches of mint on the long, spicy finish. A brilliant over-proof tequila with a surprising complexity for a Blanco.
